Connect your YouTube channel

Last updated: 10 August 2026

To stream your games live, 21points publishes to your own YouTube channel. The videos are yours, the audience is yours, and you can revoke our access whenever you want. You only do this once, but allow a day of margin: YouTube takes up to 24 hours to enable live streaming on a channel that has never streamed before.

Before you start

You need three things: a Google account for the club (better than the personal account of someone who might leave), a mobile phone to receive a verification SMS (your own number, from your country, works), and about 10 minutes. If your club already has a YouTube channel, even better: use it and skip the first step.

Step 1 · Have a YouTube channel

If the club doesn't have a channel yet, go to youtube.com with the club's account, click your photo (top right) and choose Create a channel. Enter the club's name and confirm. Recommendation: use a channel dedicated to the club, not anyone's personal channel — the games will appear mixed in with the rest of that channel's videos.

Step 2 · Enable live streaming (this takes 24 h)

Go to youtube.com/features, find Live streaming and click Enable. YouTube will ask you to verify your phone number: pick your country, enter the number, receive the code by SMS and type it in. You'll see a notice that the feature will be available in 24 hours: that's normal and cannot be sped up. The next day, go back to that same page and check that it shows as enabled. Until it is, step 3 cannot be completed.

Step 3 · Connect the channel to 21points

In your 21points dashboard, go to Live streaming → YouTube channel and click Connect with YouTube. Google will ask you to sign in: choose the club's account (careful if you have several sessions open in your browser). If you have several channels, select the club's one. Google will show you the permissions 21points is requesting; click Allow and you'll return to the dashboard with the channel connected.

Step 4 · Check that everything is green

On that same screen you'll see three indicators: Channel connected (we now have permission to publish), Live streaming enabled (YouTube activated broadcasting, i.e. step 2 is complete) and Ready to stream (all good, you can now schedule broadcasts). If any of them isn't green, the panel itself tells you what's missing and how to fix it. If you've just enabled live streaming on YouTube, click Check again so we re-check it right away.

Exactly which permissions you grant us

On your channel, 21points will be able to create the live broadcasts of your games, set the title, description and thumbnail of each one, and start and end them automatically when the game begins and ends. We do not read your email, your contacts or your personal data, and we do not touch videos that 21points did not create.

How to revoke our access

Whenever you want, in two ways: from 21points, under Live streaming → YouTube channel → Disconnect; or from your Google account, at myaccount.google.com/permissions, finding 21points and clicking Remove access. When you disconnect, already-scheduled broadcasts will stop working, but the videos already published remain yours and are not deleted.

Frequently asked questions

YouTube says my phone number has been used too many times

Google allows verifying 2 channels per number per year. Use another number (for example, the club's instead of a personal one).

Why do I have to wait 24 hours?

It's a YouTube-imposed delay to enable live streaming on a channel that has never streamed, and it cannot be sped up. Do it with margin, not the day before the tournament.

It says the channel is already connected to another organizer

That YouTube channel is linked to another 21points account. Write to us and we'll sort it out.

I connected the wrong channel

Click Change channel on that same screen and repeat the process, choosing the right account and channel.

It used to work and now it says the channel is suspended

The permission was lost (Google password change, access revoked, or a long time without streaming). Click Connect with YouTube again and you're done. Do it before tournament day.

Can I use a channel that already has club videos?

Yes. The broadcasts are added as regular videos on that channel, alongside the rest of your content.
